WiFi hotspot connection issue

I have a problem with the connection of my phone's hotspot to the cars wifi - in that is fails to connect automatically.  Sometimes it doesn't even see the hotspot until I've turned it (hotspot) off and on a couple of times, whilst merrily picking up other wifi networks from well outside the car, and on the fly as I drive!  This may be due to the fact that I have an iPhone 11, but I can usually eventually get the car and phone to connect, and once connected it's fine - I think!  Anyone else have this problem / know of a solution?

Could well be the phone that's at fault here. I would try another phone. 

For example enable hotspot in yours, car does not connect, enable it on another phone while your iPhone is still on, if it works on another phone, you got your answer.

Yeah, I'll give it a go with my wifes iPhone6.

Hi,

iOS 13 has well known issues with connectivity, if you try another iPhone is good to be with different software version or maybe better option to try to connect an android phone if you have one available.

Thanks Tony. The backup iPhone won’t be up to date so might give that a try. But I can live with having to reconnect before the occasional longer journey and hope a later iOS will be more friendly!
