I have a 2009  1.33 Auris  Stop / Start.

Can you tell me the Procedure to reset the electrics after disconnecting the  Battery.

I have no power steering or electric windows or guages.

you have a strange issue there malcolm

make sure all power cables have been re connected

in case there was a fly lead on the Battery that hasn't been reconnected

then check all of the fuses.

the normal resetting after a Battery disconnection is for the

radio station presets, clock & the one touch windows up & down thats it.

I'm guessing you reconnected your Battery backwards and (hopefully) blew the fuses.

More info about what you actually did to get to where you are now, would be helpfull.

The information I have so far to reset the electrics is  to  Turn on the ignition, press the brake pedal hard

open and close any door, then start the engine.

This Procedure failed to produce any results.

I have checked and checked everything. Next step is to investigate the Power steering Module and the power

supply to it.

Yes I thoroughly checked everything. Fuses and relays were checked with a meter. Earths were tested.

I tested the Fusible Link by removing it and running a motor from

each terminal in turn to really test it. Everything looks so good, I tend to think the ECU(S)

have not reset themselves. Buying another Power Steering Module may be awaste of money or may help me solve this.

I am stumped.

you have popped one of the fuses no point in throwing parts at until its diagnosed correctly, make sure the fusible links on the Battery terminal are not broken remember there are multiple fuse boxes under the bonnet and one inside the car

if you have removed the Battery and replaced it make sure it's the correct one, if in doubt disconnect the Battery and check the terminals

i take it everything worked before initially removing the battery ? Does the car start ?

I had power steering module supposedly die all of a sudden, a known issue on 1st gen. I bought a new module, put it in, worked fine, tested the old one using Toyota manual, and it's fine, tested the relay who is supposedly not working, and worked fine.

Multiple users  reported that for power steering module, you need to disconnect all the plugs, give it 1 minute, reconnect, and suddenly it works. Problem is that to do this, you need to take the dash apart, took me 2 hours to disassemble, replace, assemble and test the car, was working slowly ( no, disconnecting the Battery does not fix it).

As for windows, did you check all the switches on all doors?

Furtula.

I will try unplugging the module as you suggest.

This sounds very promising.

I feel it is likely to be software as everything else is so bullet proof.

You can check this topic, which i wrote after i had it fixed, it has a PDF how to disassemble the dash, and a link to youtube video explaining the process.

But still there is the issue of power windows and gauges, so maybe check that first before going for the module as it could be a different thing.

Have you checked all the fuses, outside, and inside the car? I havent had the need to change any fuses on my Auris, but they should be in 3 locations total.
