I've just bgt an old 2002 1.0 vvt-i Yaris.  Which will be the family 2nd car.  It only had 60.5k on it.  I've changed the engine and gearbox oil.  Replaced filters.  Not  done the fuel filter yet as looks like it's in the tank (might have a go soon).  I've had to bend the boot latch to stop the plastic lock lever moving from the left of the metal latch switch to the right.  This stopped it working.  Is this a common problem on these cars.

Our other car is a Discovery and I have some older air cooled cars so I'm happy to use a spanner.  Although I'm very far from an expert.  I studied Computing at University because I know where my strengths are!

I've been really impressed with the build quality and how simple these cars are to work on.  Next I'm going to do the fan belt.

The front tyres are going to need changing soon as they are wearing on the inside.  I guess that is a side the tracking needs checking?  I've a jack.  Can I set it myself?  Is it worth buying the Hayes book or is there a workshop manual online?
