Toyota Yaris diesel consumption

Hello to the club. I own a used Toyota Yaris diesel 1.4 d-4D 100k kilometers 2016 model. In general is great car and everything but i have some concerns regarding the fuel consumption. So far with one tank(42ltr) and 5.3 ltr/100 i barely do 600km(urban) with normal driving style like changing the gears correctly not throttling like crazy to keep turbo calmed. Compare other diesel cars they do more kilometers with not lets say so conservative driving as i do. Anybody knows how many kilometers this model can do?

I understand your tank hold 42 litres but how do you know that you used all 42 litres to do them 600km?

Follow this and come back with the result:

Fill your tank full, put as much fuel as you can and make a note of the mileage

Drive around for so many km/miles (the more distance you travel the more accurate the result will be)

Fill your tank full again and make a note of the mileage and the fuel amount it took you to fill the tank to full again

Do the maths and get the accurate MPG.

According to the information on your last comment you currently get 40mpg which is low for a diesel yaris. The lowest i managed to get mine was 55mpg
