Wow!  A saving of 100%.  That is impressive!!!

Respect to your local Citroen garage!  Perhaps your Toyota dealer weren't very good with numbers [sigh].  Or maybe there is another explanation....?  😉

So, your car is wearing the pads at roughly 0.26mm per 1000 miles.  So if you were to change them with 3mm left, that equates to almost 12,000 more miles of wear left.

Hence the MoT reporting nothing untoward (N.B. they will only report what they can see, they don't dismantle). 

Also hence, your indie service chap not mentioning the condition of the pads, as there was nothing to report - you had way over a years life left in them at your current annual mileage.

Thanks for the update. Maybe buy a lottery ticket?!
