Avensis 1.8i T25 model 2007 1ZZ-FE engine and E10 fuel

When I bought the car, the garage told me not to put E10 in the car, and only go for E5 98 fuel, otherwise I can damage the engine. However, when checked up online, there’s no mention of incompatibility between E10 and 1ZZ-FE engine. There’s indeed a warning for 1AZ and 2AZ engines but not for 1ZZ. My question is whether it’s ok to use E10 or not and if someone has experience with this before?

Indeed I looked at the same document. So I should not really worry about it? The guy was pretty adamant not to use E10.

Only the AZ direct injection petrol engines cannot use E10 as detailed in the list. Maybe someone had a problem with an Avensis, and the man at the petrol station thinks all engines are affected.
