Hello I'm just trying to find out if this is a common issue in a diesel Corolla

I notice a whistle/whine sound as soon as I got 2000rpm and only in 3rd gear on acceleration only noise disappears as soon as I take foot of pedel and also disappears if I change out of 3rd or get to 2500rpm

This is my first ever turbo diesel so not sure what noise is normal in these cars as previously owned a 1.6 petrol Corolla

Any help or advice would be appreciated

My guess would be that it's the turbo sucking in air that you can hear. I have a t3 2.0 and it does exactly the same. I had an induction kit on mine for a while and the noise was much more noticeable, but only between about 1800 and 2500.

Does yours do it only in 3rd gear tho or just more noticeable in 3rd gear at 2000rpm?

It is most noticeable in third, does it in second as well but goes past the rev range too quick to really be noticeable if you are accelerating.
