Ss2 Or Gt ?

Hi,

I am new to this forum and new to Celicas if truth be told.

I find it interesting to hear about all the different model ranges. I have an imported 2.0 GT

I know the GT4 of course, but what is a SS2. I think that the SS stands for super strut.

But how does it differ from a normal one and how can you tell it on the road ?

Just curious really.

Thanks

Mark

If you have an imported GT then that is an SS2.

In japan you have the ss1 which is a 2ltr 140ish bhp engine, the ss2 which is a 2ltr 175ish bhp engine and then the ss3 which is also 2ltrs but with over 200bhp.

Also you have the GT4 which is a 2ltr 4wd turbo with 255bhp.

The UK sold cars were the ST/SR which was a 1.8ltr engine, the GT which is identical to the SS2 and the GT4 with 239bhp.
