Psr Sport Bitterly Disappointed By Retirement

Gutted.

100m into the first stage and the gearbox gets jammed in third.

The clutch burns out trying to pull us back to the service area and we've got no option but to retire. This is my first ever retirement due to mechanical failure and it's hard to swallow. Especially as it happened so early on the first stage.

There's a report and a few pics on the website at www.psr-sport.com if anyone's interested.

Many thanks to Garrick (System_G) who left home at 3:30am to help us out in the service area. Sorry we never got it as far as you, pal.

Bugger.

Phil

It was the selector rods. A U-clip had come off. Don't think it was put back on properly after a gearbox rebuild so I'm not happy with the guys who did it.

Very simple fix.

Thanks for the offer of help, though.

You interested in getting involved at all?

You'd have been wasting your time if you had made it!

Feel so sorry for Garrick (System-G). Sorry mate!

I'll stay in touch and let you know when the test is, though.

Don't worry about it dude. It was good meeting you, your co-driver, Steve, Dan and your mates B)

I really felt gutted for you and Steve. I know you guys put a lot of work into getting the car running.

One of my favourite sayings: It's always better to have done something and regret it now than to have done nothing at all and regret it forever.

Give us a shout when you are closer to testing, I'll gladly give you guys a hand again

Thanks mate.

Another favourite saying is that the biggest failure of all is failing to try.

There's a good car there in the Yaris Evo1 and it's definitely got the potential to get more good results. The Evo2 will be even better! We'll be out again before long and we'll succeed.

Thanks for your encouragement, guys. Not sure if anyone appreciates how close I was to jacking it all in yesterday. Support from people such as on this forum all adds to the case to continue and it's appreciated.

Phil
