Hi, my headlights are really poor in this dark weather, they do look a bit yellow (the glass) can I replace the cover or can i put a different bulb in to make them brighter? Or do they need replacing altogether? Thanks

Hello Kate - welcome to Toyota Owners Club.

If the headlight lenses appear yellowed, the first step would be to try and restore the lenses back to clear. Various cleaning kits are available to restore lenses - see examples on Amazon  https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=Headlight+cleaning+kits&ref=nb_sb_noss_2

One the lenses have been worked on, fitting brighter bulbs would help - examples Osram Nightbreakers Un!imited, Philips X-treme Vision or Racing Vision, etc. Eg

Before ordering upgrade bulbs, you need to check which fitting you have- H4, H7, H11, etc.

In addition to Frostyballs comments, I would add that it's worth checking the wiring connectors, and also the earthing.  Plus remove and refit any fuses a couple of times, in case they should be suffering.  Corrosion can creep insiduously and slowly, so we don't notice lights deteriorating over the years.  Not easy working out where earths are located on modern vehicles, but a way round this is to just run a new lead from a convenient point, to the lighting concerned, main attention being the headlights.

Good quality new bulbs may be the answer (eg Osram et al)..or a lens restoring product...or both.!!

....though I have HID lights (on the dip) on my Estima which are really good.
