Fan belt change on 2002 vvti

I failed to get the alternator to move so I could take the old belt off.  I was able to loosen the top bolt but couldn't find the right bolt bottom bolt to loosen.  I wasn't as my best because my right leg is in a brace so couldn't get under the car.

Where is the bottom bolt I need to loosen

Easiest is to find a used part for sale, and see the bolt holes there, as you get a nice picture..

Or go to japan-parts.eu and enter your vin, find the alternator and see how it's bolted on.

back the bolt off on the alternator top you may need to spray it down with gt85 then simply adjust the long bolt (pointing towards the back of the car) you may have to wind it in/oud a few times to get it moving

We got the long bolt and the other top bolt completely loose but the alternator didn't move.  We thought there was another bolt to loosen but sounds like you are saying the alternator should of moved?

There is one bolt in the bottom and a spacing collar if the bolt has been tightened the alternator will not move you may need a spanner on the back side nut

the alternator is the same design as this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FITS-TOYOTA-YARIS-MK1-1-3-1-5-PETROL-VVTi-1999-2005-BRAND-NEW-80AMP-ALTERNATOR/142538086908?fits=Car+Make%3AToyota|Model%3AYaris%2FVitz&hash=item212fee99fc:g:-qcAAOSwxNBcra8J

Edit. if it still has the oem nut it has a locking tab to stop it turning
