I see someone asked on auris and answer was electric power steering, is the blade the same?

Reason asking is parked car went into shops came out to start , starts fine moves, but the steering wheel is locked cant turn it.

I am in New zealand, any answers help appreciated.

Hey Sandra

You've probably found the issue by now but for those who don't know,

It does have electric power steering, it doesnt have a reservoir, its not hydraulic, my 2007 Toyota Blade did the same thing, parked it up as normal came to use it and found the power steering warning light on and was very hard to turn wheel, had my partner drive it home for me and booked it into an auto electrical shop to have diagnostic done.

it needs the ECU replaced, gonna cost me about 1200nzd for a 2nd hand one (including labour). Was told another Blade had the same issue but other work was needed it ended up costing 1800nzd. My car has to stay overnight. Modern cars and their computers errrr 😕
