Flush or drain and fill transmission fluid 2006 solara sle

Hoping someone can help,

my 2006 solara sle convertible is currently awaiting service at my mechanics, I had a leak of transmission fluid where the line meets the radiator. my mechanic is suggesting a transmission fluid flush and fill after they replace the radiator. I bought the car with 97000 miles, it currently has 117000 and I’m not sure it’s ever been changed, I’m worried that this may cause transmission problems if not done correctly, could you advise whether or not a flush and fill is a good idea or should I request a simple drain and fill or none of the above?

thank you in advance

Hi, if you give us more info about the car and exact type of transmission fitted someone may have the right answer for you. Meanwhile best to fix the leaks first than simple change and refill maybe healthier solution. I guess your car is automatic and each type auto transmission has their own specs and service requirements.
