DVLA refund text warning

I had a text this morning saying I was due a £214.88 refund from DVLA for vehicle tax. Just a heads up that this is a scam. I thought the link in the text looked a bit suspect and when I googled the number I found this https://scam-numbers.co.uk/Number/07544057991/ where other people said its a scam too. Upon a bit more digging I saw that DVLA said they never send texts to advise of a refund so defo not legit. Shame though, a refund would have been great 😅

Its easy to detect with vehicle licencing...... ask yourself, why would DVLA need to give me a refund? I you dont know a reason then its probably a scam.          

HMRC not as straightforward though, as they could have made a mistake from some years back. But same logic, if you cant think why they should give you a refund, then think possible scam. ALWAYS make sure the offer is legit before you jump for it.
