Auris Sport Tourer 2014: Turning off Automatic Highbeam

Hello, I have the Auris ST '14 model, and I'm quite satisfied thus far, my only gripe is the automatic setting on the headlight lever, which when driving newer models just means the lights turn off when the car does as far as I know. The issue however is that instead of being a seperate button that enables automatic highbeam, it's integrated into the auto setting on the lever, this requires me to turn it to the manual headlight setting, which wouldn't be a problem if the car didn't whine every time I leave it on that setting and turn off the car.

What I'm trying to do is just disable auto highbeam altogether so I can use the Auto feature on the Stalk without having to remember to turn the damn lever. I read the owner's manual and it told me to go into "Setup > Vehicle Customization > Light Settings", but that only shows sensitivity for the light sensor, which doesn't really do anything at all. Do I need to go to a vendor? It's a European model, so the manual might be for a different region?  Any help is greatly appreciated, excuse my rant and my language. I'll provide more information if needed.

As far as I'm aware the Touring Sport is Europe only. Which country are you in?

to use the auto high beam you have to do the following

1) set the dial to AUTO

2) push the stalk to the high beam on position

the auto high beam is now enabled... to disable the AHB

return the light stalk to the normal driving position

personally i find it a pita when you want to use the indicators

as the stalk is too far away for me to use properly

Problem is, I want to have it in the auto position but disable AHB. So that the lights turn off when the car does.

there is no problem

the stalk that you use for high beam has to be pushed forward

i.e. in the position where the high beam stays on

this will enable the AHB when you are in auto mode

to stop the AHB just move the stalk back to the high beam off position

you can leave dial in the auto position
