Avensis not starting

After some advice parked up for some shopping the other day car was running fine came back car wouldn't start just a constant ticking from the starter motor. Managed to bump start it got it home let it run for 30 minutes turned it off tried to start it again same problem. So far I've tried a jump start from a discovery also removed the Battery and put that Battery in its place still the same thing. Had the starter motor off and checked to be told it's fine. All of the earths have been replaced due to another problem. Tried another power cable to the starter motor still the same problem also removed the plug on the back of the starter motor and tried a direct feed from the Battery and still the same thing.

If a direct power (and earth) feed to the starter (and the solenoid) doesn't turn the starter then the starter has a fault.

The thing with the starter it was replaced just over 2 years ago and when removed and taken to a place near me that deals with starter motors it was tested and we were told it was fine.

Did it turn over okay when you were jump starting from the Disco? Ticking from the starter would usually indicate a bad solenoid, a low Battery or a bad connection to the Battery, usually the grounding leads.

It was still ticking on several attempts to jump start. So I've ordered a new starter even though the old one is only a couple of years old. The bloke at the parts place said it looked like the cheapest possible starter was put on.
