HIR2 bulb lost in headlight area whilest changing

Hi all,

2016 Auris hatchback, changing the HIR2 9012 main/dipped bulb

I was attempting change of the front headlamp passenger side ( easier access as not by water pipe)
But in the struggle dropped the OLD bulb into the light area, ie underneath where the bulb is mounted,

I squeezed the hand in several times and cant get the old bulb out, I presume its just resting at front of the internal light chamber,
and that I would need to dissemble the whole front bumper& panels etc to get at it.

Question, wrt to these bulbs, I know they are very sensitive, is it OK to just fit the replacement and continue on,
with the risk of this old bulb knocking around in lighting chamber and touching off new one's glass??

Clumsy 😞

the bulb may become trapped if you use the headlight leveling dial

and further damage could possibly occur if its totally unreachable

i think the only option will be headlight out and give it a shake

to get the bulb out, i had something similar with an aygo we had

changed the side light bulb for an led and it fell out of the bulb holder

so bumper off headlight out and gave it a shake.

Thanks eygo, was worried about the leveling dial alright,
I will have a check again and see if there any chance of it getting loose, otherwise I think as you say take it all apart

at least then should also be actually simple to change the actual bulb!
