Helping with replacing stereo head unit in 2009 Auris

Hi all,

I've purchased a 2009 Auris, and I want to replace the stereo head unit with one that has DAB and an AUX in.

I posted here a couple of days ago asking about how to run the DAB antenna through the glovebox, up through the dash, up the A pillar, and to the top of the windshield. But now, I'm realizing that I've never replaced a stereo head unit before, and I'm actually a little unsure of what I need.

So, for example, I was thinking of getting this stereo:

which seems like a decent price for a 2 DIN head unit with DAB, bluetooth, aux, and USB charging (although if someone can recommend something else, please feel free).

But anyway, I assume I need a mounting kit to get the old stereo out, connect the new stereo wiring harness, and make sure it sits nicely in the console and doesn't move around or rattle, etc.

But when I search here in Norway for a mounting kit, this is pretty much the only thing I can find:

...which seems like an awful lot of money. This is about 140 euro.

Can anyone confirm what I do/don't need here?

Connects2 CT23TY06 - £30-35

Connects2 CTSTY001.2 - £25-30 and patch lead to suit your stereo (usually included) be aware there a few different leads depending on what you have fitted as standard

I don't really rate Sony or JVC car audio, Pioneer or Alpine are the ones to go with

You can get pretty decent Android ones for maybe 200 euros or so, nice screen ,fast enough + you can install stuff from the google play.

When you sum up the prices for all the adapters you will need, it's similar enough to at least think about this option.

I saw some on aliexpress that have EU warehouses, so delivery time should be fast + most of them usually need just 1 extra cable (models intended for Toyota)

It's been a while since i searched for this, so i might be wrong on something, but it's definitely an option worth considering.

Two questions, then:

Not sure if it includes the aerial antenna adapter (not sure from the photo) -- what does this do by the way?
