Hi all

i have a 2012 rav4 with the touch screen media centre, I would like to get DAB in the car, have you any suggestions or has anyone successfully installed a different DAB head unit while still retaining the original functions?

also has anyone had any success with the pure 400 adapter

thanks in advance

A friend has the one where you connect it via the areil then tune through 88.…FM it works but not flawless. I like you am looking to upgrade but not wanting to pay some of the excessive prices, but also don't want to have to connect my phone for the nav system? It seems it's either spend £600+ or try Chinese but not found any reliable reviews?

I have been thinking about just fitting a normal dab radio and trying to find a nav that fits in the space above?

I bought Pure 200 and connected it via AUX. At the moment I'm using Internal DAB aerial which came with the receiver, but signal drops occasionally (not often though). I alco bought external shark fin aerial with built-in DAB aerial which I plan to install when it gets warmer. All this was less than £100.

Hi Kos,  I think the pure route is the way I will go like you did, it looks like Amazon has the 400 on for less than £60 as against Halfords at nearly £150

Did you put the antenna in the front screen or in the back?

Hi Ant, I've put the antenna at the front windscreen, top passenger corner, routed the cable along passenger side A-pillar and then inside the dashboard (along the steel bar inside the dashboard, would help if you take the glove box out, 5 seconds job). That what my installation looks like. I've also hid the aux socket under the central console and instead of it put dual USB socket (one is just power supply, another is connected to stock USB socket, so you can still use memory sticks).

I took your advice Kos,  I bought the highway 400. Installed it in about 10 mins,  all working.  I am very pleased with it, thank you again for the good advice
