I am struggling to undo the tab to release the windscreen Wiper Blades. It does not seem to match any of the online videos that I've seen.

It should be the standard hook type, turn the blade 90º to the arm, lift the latch and pull down

Yours is a late mk1 isn't it ?

Edit. if its been fitted with flat blades or aero twin blades you have to pop the cap on the blade off
