Hi looking to get a CHR what things should I be looking out for. 

Will probably be the 1.2cvt

Is the AWD worth the extra? Is it any good? 

Any advice is welcome

Presume you're looking at used as the 1.2t has been dropped for 2020 - 1.8 or 2.0 hybrid only now. See:

1.2 engine is better for response but not mpg. Depends if you want economy and efficiency or response and less mpg?

1.2 engine being dropped from C-HR sort of tells you something. I'm buying an hybrid but would have considered a 1.2 if it was around 50mpg. The hybrid system is also very reliable. 
 

Whatever you choose, it will be reliable, but choice is really down to what you want. AWD is pretty pointless imo. Just extra servicing, wear and tear etc etc. Especially if you don’t need to plough ( no pun intended ) up and down country lanes every day.
