White always reminds me of 90's escorts and astra's usually low spec - ex police - the escorts were junk

70's was all brown, beige and yellow, 00's was silver

Colour is the FIRST I look for when buying a car

Reason is yes, its ONLY to get you from A-B , but if I am to spend £1000s on it, I got to at least like the look of it first :yahoo:

It's like food, it's only there to keep us from dying/unhealthy - but if it looks like 💩, no way I will eat it even if I die ☠️

Sounds like you were a rebel with a XR3i or even a Cosworth in wild Police chases in your youth :boxing:

My mistake, I thought you meant you had bikes from making money at school :whistling1:

Talking about milk/paper round, what did they pay you in those days (in today's money)?

My kid took up a paper round and didn't last a week, he didn't see it worthwhile being paid like 0.something of a pound PER paper delivered :wolfwood:

early-mid 90's £5-15 a week depending on what had to be done, i also stocked the shop and unloaded the car from the cash and carry (always a bit of extra for that), Christmas I could make £100-150 in tips (a fortune to a teenager)

I used to get the just out of date sweets too

When I was looking for my Auris, the colour was first choice, then mileage and wanted full Toyota history.

I bought a slightly older car by 2 years but 15k miles less 25k as the colour was fantastic. Island Blue. Really suits it. I didn't want black or white. I have had several older Volvos a 1989 240 and current 1996 Volvo 940 both in silver, so fancied something different. My previous Lexus was burgundy red and looked great when clean.

I do accelerate quickly up to the speed limit but still averaging 53mpg on energy monitor. Must reset it! When in Birmingham MPG goes up and eco drive goes to 60-5mpg at the lower speeds of town.

WOW!

Bet, you were the coolest kid in town back then :serenade:

Bet, these days don't see those jobs or that sort of pay anymore :tabletalk:
