Nice one Wayne,

welcome to the club of Toyota’s undercover 🚙

Looks really good, clean and tidy. And because your one is blue you may no need to touch the front and rear emblems. The bad guys usually watch for hybrid badge, that’s it. 👍

I did think about the bonnet/boot badges - and came to the same conclusion :toot:

Hmmm, where best to put the TOC sticker? :g:

Does anyone/MOD know if the sticker come in other or part colour? :help:

One used to be able to buy the stickers from the Drivn online store in either silver or gold, but this has recently closed.

Nice solid colour there, James :thumbup1:

I used Auto-Smart TARDIS (glue/tar remover)

Check this forum for recommendation:

https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12686

To be honest, not sure if really needed

As I kept pouring hot (not boiling) water on it, and the glue softens and easier to peel/remove - but STILL painful finger work (so as not to scratch the paintwork) :tooth: (did use a microfibre cloth instead of just pure finger nails directly on the glue/paintwork !)

No worries, bud :thumbup1:

I did mine within the hour, if that gives you an idea how long it might take :scooter:

In detail:

01. Boil kettle, let it cool for a couple of minutes

02. Empty the kettle on all badges to remove (pour slowly as much into the glue as possible)

03. Boil kettle

04. FIRST BADGE: Dental floss to see-saw with a bit of elbow grease (dental floss will snap, do get a LONG piece to see-saw so can re-use the snapped bits - took me 5-10 seconds) :rifle:

05. If struggling, use more HOT water from the 2nd kettle boil

06. EACH Badge, pour more HOT water before dental flossing

07. When all badges removed, now this is your choice: rub on remaining glue the Tar/Glue remover OR I think you can get away with JUST using more HOT WATER

08. If use Tar/Glue Remover, wait a good few minutes (if HOT water then do it immediately whilst the glue been soften) - I used a microfibre cloth using my finger nails picking off the majority of the glue (took the longest: 15-20mins) :boxing:

09. When most glue is removed, either add more tar/glue remover (or HOT water) - and then just use a microfibre cloth and literally just WIPE clean the glue :serenade:

10. I didn't do this but (as a friend will wash my car today). But there will be a bit of smearing/light scratches on the paintwork now - either leave it and just clean the area and wax it - or clean, polish, clay,IPA then wax it 🏁

Keep us posted when you do it

Interesting tip, another reason NOT to buy a BLACK car :wolfwood:

Black cars are usually London’s business class motors, I like them a lot but you need to subscribe to a car wash scheme 😂, also black cars are using more energy to keep the interior cool in hot days therefore they are even not allowed as buying options in some states of US and UAE. The same Auris estate was the first Toyota in London that I was seen for months wrongly believed that its a diesel not hybrid until one day I stopped next to it, look at inside and I found out, so it works.
