Return journey, stopped at Morrisons after 45miles on motorway and Yaris shows 63mpg (I never achieved that in my Auris!) :driving::clap:

And after that, 6 more miles town driving home, the mpg increased to 65.6mpg :clapping:

I know you not driven it many miles yet Wayne, but did you notice much difference between your Auris and the Yaris.

Posted

Massive difference!

Though, not a fair comparison as the Auris was the next size up + 1.8 L + 136bhp

Whilst, the Yaris a year NEWER is only 1.5 L + 99bhp

The Auris was easier to drive due to bigger engine/bhp and hence also more effortless and more ooomph to speed up or up a hill

A better comparison was when I had the 2018 Yaris Hybrid 1.5 courtesy car - certainly being a NEWER car, it felt MORE solid, composed and even more power/nippier than mine 2013 Yaris :thumbup1:

To add in another comparison, I had the 2020 Corolla 1.8 122bhp Hybrid , compared to my 2012 Auris 1.8 136bhp - the Corolla feels solid (like an European car) and actually drive like a diesel with plenty of mid-range ooomph + a lot less hybrid whine , in fact if I didn't know, I would thought the hybrid Corolla was a diesel (without the clatter)! + It felt FAST too :driving:

I haven't driven the CH-R, but have a feeling it would be similar to the Corolla (judging from how reviews judge it to be very drive able) :thumbup1:

If I had the money + if the 'cat' was safe, I would buy the Corolla Hybrid 2.0!!!

Glad your pleased with your Yaris, though a blue one! Looks a good colour. Good economy! Hope it serves you well until you buy a corolla.

James.

I never took to the colour when seeing it in the flesh, but when seeing it in some pictures for sale, it looks 60/70s FUNKY BABY to me 😅

PS, could be the Corolla 2.0 Hybrid, or the CH-R 2.0 Hybrid :driving:

I actually liked it when I first saw it a few years ago, but now (seeing what new cars got), yeah...bit out of favour now 😞

When thinking about the 'cat' thefts,

I thought about how to buy s Hybrid and hiding the fact if is a Hybrid

Interestingly, the Auris hide the badges but, can't hide the joy stick 😥

NEW Yaris, even better hide the badges and the gear stick is SAME as an auto petrol :thumbup1:

But, my mk1 Yaris just STANDS OUT 😱

01. The bonnet is different

02. Headlights different

03. The rear lights different

04. Gear knob is different too!

Yes, I like white cars, had a couple im my time - Citroen diesels.   Its black cars I cant stand, nice when polished but a bit of rain (that contains dirt/sand) and they look rubbish.

There is a model of Yaris Hybrid that looks pretty similar to the red on a Prius, a nice deep red.

Wayne, after having a nice light stubby gearstick in the Auris, whats the long stick thingy like in the Yaris.  Is it light, is it a pain going from D to P (for example)

I tell you, going back to a normal auto stick from a joy-stick makes you think why we laughed when we first saw the joy stick! 😞

The CLUNKY awkward Yaris NOTCHY Yaris stick obviously NOT as smooth NOR quick as the joy-stick

even the newest COROLLA Hybrid stick is WORSE than my Yaris. It's even MORE clunky (no idea why they didn't put a joy stick in the Corolla, maybe they think the traditional stick more MANLY) 🤔

The WORSE was the MK2 Auris 1.2T auto, the car I WAS going to buy, but after the test-drive, I HATED the auto stick that much + with a passion! 😠

Granted, the Corolla stick looks cool 😎

The Yaris looks funky :thumbup1:

But, I prefer the weird looking joy stick ANY DAY :driving::clap:

I was stopped by the Police 2 weeks ago, because the Corolla courtesy car was not showing up on the Police database as insured 🚔👮‍♂️😱

It was a great drive, and I got close to 60 mpg in the few hours I had the car. I nearly didn't want to give it back!

Agree with Konrad! :thumbup1:

The Yaris just gets better and better :driving:

Hope you get the Corolla as a courtesy car next time, Konrad - you will love it even more 😍 (just beware, it is LOWER and more CRAMP - just Toyota seems to be aiming away from their traditional more matured customers 🤔)!
