hi i'm seriuosly thinking about buying a 96 reg Celica SS3 (GT) import, can anyone help me with specs, BHP, 0-60, MPG, etc and also will it take UK parts or will i have to get import parts? :bookworm:

200BHP, 0-60 in 7.2secs (unofficial)

approx 30mpg

Parts arent a problem as your Local toyota dealer will be able to get import parts just as easy as uk version parts.

ABS (Optional), LSD, Power Steering, Alloy Wheels, Side Impact bars, Twin Airbags, Nylon Sports Seats, Electric Folding Mirrors, Electric Windows etc

I thought the SS3 (Beams version) didn't appear untill 1997/1998 ?

That eBay ad is a bit wrong too, it's not the same VVTi engine used in the newest Celica.

Yeah thought they didn't start to produce them till 1998/99 so not sure on the 96 reg and the engine is the same as the one in the Altezza.

Think you're right with 1998 :)

Although it's slightly different to the version found in the Altezza RS200, that's got a 'black top' beams engine with 210bhp.

same engine, both are 210 bhp

Same engine as in it's still a 3S-GE, the SS3 has a red top Beams engine though, and is 200bhp - same as the JDM rev5 mk2 MR2 G-Limited.
