Check Engine Warning

Hello wonder if anyone can shed some light on my auris hybrid 2011 plate . I went out to my car on Monday and the car was completely dead , zero power but the engine management light come on . Was told it was Battery so today jump started it and it started no problem , I took it for a run for 10-15 minutes then parked up and turned it on and off twice with no problem but then a hour later went back out and car was dead again and dashboard said there was a malfunction. I’m so stressed out .

Any interior lights on once started or headlight switch on? On mk2 check vanity mirror lights. If not how old is the Battery? If totally flat 15 minutes isn't enough time to recharge, especially if running heater etc while recharging. Start it again and drive for half an hour or preferably a long run. How old is the Battery? If original, may well be past it.
