Corolla Hybrid GR Sport instrument panel problem

Does anyone know if you can manually enable instrument panel lights to illuminate the heating, aircon, fan controls  etc for daytime as they they are quite difficult to see exactly what they are. At night they are clearly illuminated. Also Toyota need to change the main speedo indicator as its a bit of a dog's breakfast gosh there is so much info on it i have a stroke every time i dare to look at it. Thank good for the genius who decided to  incorporate HUD and the only thing its missing is a bull'e eye.

I switch to the digital speedo and set the centre display to media (dab radio in my case). Much less fussy.

I’d turn the side lights on.
