I have a 1978 Cressida Sedan (believe that is MX32 chassis, definitely 4M engine). I'm trying to find a replacement EGR valve. I haven't found any U.S. replacement EGRs (including from Toyota International). Previous searches for U.S. Toyota Clubs revealed only one mainly in the California area that didn't appear to include and Cressida owners.

The following is the data for my 78 Cressida sedan:

Engine: 4M

Frame: MX32

Model: MX32L

I suspect the "L" in the model simply distinguishes the version that places the steering wheel on the left side of the car (for marketing in U.S., etc).

A Chilton manual I have (written in U.S.) indicates as follows:

1. 1978-80 Cressida Sedans (all 2600, I assume based on the rounded-off engine displacement) used the model number MX32L while 78-80 Cressida Wagons (again all 2600) used model number MX36L.

2.1981-84 (all 2800, and showing no distinction between wagon and sedan) used Model No. MX-62L.

3. 1985-86 sedans (all 2800) all used model no. MX-72 while all 1985-86 wagons (again all 2800) used model no. MX-73.
