Memory seats not setting

Recommended Posts

Posted

Good evening

I picked up my superb Rav 4 yesterday and love all the features except the memory seats as they appear to not set. I have followed the manual and watched a couple YouTube  videos to confirm but there is no movement after trying to move between the two settings.

Anyone had this issue and if so, how did you resolve it please?

A few of us had it - see here:

Hi Pete

Thankyou but my issue is memory seats not setting not auto folding mirrors. Did you link the wrong discussion?

Kind regards

Andy

Nope - the text is about the memory seats, the subject matter had moved on from the original title.

There is no need to drive to the dealer.
The following steps will solve the issue on RAV4 2018-2024.

Steps:

1. move your seat forward much as you can.
2. move your seat higher much as you can.
3. incline your seat much as you can.
4. hold the set button and press 1.
5. move driver side seat to the desired seat position.
6. hold the set button and press 1.
7. now move randomly the seat position, press button 1 and see your seat moving to last saved position.

Maybe I was lucky! I moved the seat to my preferred position then pressed 1 to set. After a dealer service ( changed oil and filter early) the seat was in the service guy setting so when I took the car I pressed 1 and it moved to my seat setting.

This is a four-year-old thread - yawn! ...

The dealer should set-up the memory seat system (if fitted) at PID. If not, it's just a matter of moving the seat to its end stops - presumably so that the system knows where they are - before setting your preferred position (as described in the quoted post from 2019!). 😉

Thanks Philip, I didn't read carefully, only the previous reply.
