Apexi Induction Kit

Hi everyone, a while back i read a review of the Apexi induction kit comparing it to HKS and Blitz and it said it was the best for filtration and just slightly better than its rivals on power gains aswell.

I'm sure many ppl have read this review aswell. But i've recently found another review saying otherwise.

http://www.ftooc.org/contents/pages/project/filter.htm

It says that the Apexi is no where near as good as its competitors for power gains and that the HKS top the chart.

This makes me wonder if the first review i and i'm sure many ppl read about the Apexi kit is biased. Or is this the one that is biased?

Your views please!

I think the best kit its different for differnet cars.

At the end of the day your only looking at a small gain whatever kit you buy about 2-3BHP.

All i can say is with the Apexi Kit:

-you will notice a small improvment in performance

-its a very good fit

-it sound very nice

-it complements any future breathing modifications you do.

-looks cool under the hood

hope this helps

it is a good filter

i personally have the blitz item which i must admit is not the best when iot comes to filtration but the noise is awesome and it looks beautiful!

also i notice a huge size difference between apex and blitz with the apex being quite small. it comparison to the blitrz which seems twice the size!

Are they difficult to fit? or would i be able to fit it myself with a few instructions?

The Apexi, filter is pretty straight forward should take no longer than 1/2 hour taking it easy. All you really need is a socket set and a few philips and flat head screwdrivers. The Yaris is such an easy car to work on, plenty of space. :P

HTH

Thanks

kev, I heard that a few people have had problems with the sensor, is that the only hardest bit to do?

the only thing with the sensor is using the right scredriver for them small screws think there electrical screws? as it is easy to round them off, so just make sure the drive is a good fit, apart from that the sensor is easy to fit/move

Hi, the air flow meter fits onto the metal pipe where there is a recessed hole for it to mate up with. You then just use the two bolts to secure it in position. Seams pretty simple even for a beginer, can't think where people could be going wrong.

Thanks

Vmail that test would have been what the air filter could do ie on a high performance car.

Was I right in saying it might be possible of getting 14bhp added ona high performance car ie a supra?

From what I know, Power adding mods are proportional to what you previously had. IE a 700bhp car will get more from an air filter than 1.0 litre yaris?

of course mate

with two whopping great turbos dragging the air in then yes you will benefit a whole lot more

a little diddy NA engine isnt going to experience the same gains at all

on NA engines you generally look at 2% increase

while turbos can pull a good 6-7% increase
