I Thought I'd Try Here

Does anyone know of anyone putting a 4A 20v head onto a 4A-GZE and what results they got, or even if this is possible. The quad throttle bodies go straight on so I'm told but I'm sure a high boosting/volume supercharger would have real gains with this head. Comments and ideas...

Dunno if this helps BUT:

The first pic below shows the old 16v GZE head beside the 20v head. In the second pic you can see the 16v head gasket laid onto the 20v head, showing the minor differences in the oil galleries between the two heads. The only modification required to physically fit the 20v head to the GZE block should be some minor drilling of a 20v head gasket to suit. This particular 20v head looks to be in good condition and has 'apparently' been reconditioned recently.

Cheers kiwi,

I had a look at a SW20 but really the boot is too small for my liking so I'm thinking of going back to my first toyota, AE92 GT-z. Just want something that has a bit of stonk behind some sleepy looks. Aren't scared of some modification work.

Thanks again man.

Anyway why not just turbo a 4agze?? You selling the GT-4 still?? There's a guy here in Wgtn that works at Paremata Mobil...he has an AE92 GT-Z with an AE101 4agze turbo in it....APPARENTLY it's REALLY good, making something like 170 kw's at the front wheels from memory :o

Cheers

Yeah the GT4 is still up for sale. I think that I'll just resort to a pulley kit, cheap horses while I'm still at Uni. Might look at a turbo option or 1G-GZE s/c unit after thats finished with. I'm in Auckland if you know anyone prepared to pay bout $5000 for it. New turbo and clutch at xmas, alarm/immobiliser, Pioneer OEL cd tuner, i/c fan kit but otherwise standard as, never been messed with and blows little smoke if at all on boost.
