When changing to summer tires, do you get the sluggish feeling?

Recently i changed to summer tires, and first thing i notice, my steering has hardened up quite a bit.

Could be the difference from winter to summer, the rubber on these is quite harder, also the car feels sluggish, does anyone else feel the difference when changing?

Tire size is same on both. Pressure same, 2,2.

Maybe not related to change of tires, but could be sluggish due to bad fuel. I had the car hesitate today while accelerating downhill, 2x for 1-2 seconds. Shut the car off, came 1 hour later, it was fine.

Still sluggish, but not hesitant, went to a first station and brimmed the tank.

Hi,  what you have noticed with steering wheel is a norm when changing winter tyres to summer ones, it’s because of the profiles of the tyres and a bit because of the rubber difference. Summer tyres make steering harder but more precise. Sluggish, nope should not be, even opposite. With summer tyres car usually rolls a lot easier and should kind of feel like going more and more, less rolling resistance. Drive it for a week or so and you will get use to. I always feel the car wired when changing tyres.

I was thinking to give it a bit of a beating on the highway.

Started  the car, it was still warm, not hot, idle was a bit erratic, going down on 2 ocassions to almost 400rpm, then back to normal, until it stabilized 30 seconds later.

Car was running almost normal now, but after few minutes, dash lit up, P0171 was the only code i got.

The troubleshooting list is pretty big, it even mentions the O2 sensor, which i hope it might be,  but then again, there is no code for it displayed.

I did re tighten the gas cap, in case someone thinks that's it.

Well, long list but you need to check them all. Visual inspection and do a google search for similar problems with other Toyota cars, this may help you figure your one. Pcv valve and vacuum leaks also can cause that code .
Good luck
