Odd question, not very car savy

So I have 91 Celica that has a badly damaged front right control arm and I'm having trouble finding parts for that year. Would it be possible to take the control arm from a different model year celica but if the same generation (say a 90 or 92) and put it on my car? Would I have to replace both the left and right control arms or would it not matter? I've check several sites for parts and they say that all the models from that gen have compatible control arms.
