New battery

We need to replace the Battery on our 2012 RAV4. Will disconnecting the old Battery effect the radio or anything else please? I’ve read that sometimes disconnecting a car battery requires a security code for the radio to be entered after the new Battery is connected. Many thanks.

The car doesn't have a radio code.

I've not encountered any issue with any Toyota we have owned regarding Battery disconnects. Radio retune for sure and also make sure your electric windows are fully up as apparently (and this is common to many makes and models), the one touch up and down can get confused and need resetting, That is in any case only moments job accomplished by just winding them down and up but holding on to the button for several seconds as the window reaches the end of its travel.

Do diesels need to relearn any engine parameters like the petrol engines? Its all automatic but just something to be aware of if the engine seems to idle oddly at first... it will relearn the necessary optimum conditions as you drive.
