Full Map Sat Nav Option

Hi from a new new member.

I've bought a 6 months old Avensis T4 with 4500 miles on the clock. A Toyota mad friend told me "once you drive Toyota you're sold for life and you'll always drive Totota" - now I believe him. Only problem was a rattling noise whch turned out to be the steering column that needed changing. Fooled the dealer for a while anyway...

:help: the only thing I miss is a full colour map sat nav. The dealer says you can't get then as an after sales upgrade option any more.

Anyone know different please?

I don't know for sure, but I'd be surprised if you could get it as an after market option. Do you not find the existing navigation screen OK? I get on OK with it on my T4 Tourer :)

When I was looking at the options for the car I picked up or viewed on line the accessory options. I read that the full map display could be obtained and fitted for £650 but of course I can't find it again - of course!

The turn by turn works well as you say but I used to have the full screen Blaupunkt in a Land Rover and I found that using the the full map display even when not looking for an address excellent for predicting the road bends and surrounding roads in a strange area.

I'll continue digging for the original information.

Steve
