Adding sub to OEM Headunit Gen4

Hi guys,

I've been owning gen 4 FL Rav4 and I'm really happy with the purchase. I even managed to get good price on high ver. nav for it 🙂

I'm only missing good bass as I used to have a sub in my old Avensis. I was thinking of getting a underseat sub for Rav4. No problem getting wires for it etc. The only problem is how to connect it to headunit ?

I've found this on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Amplifier-Interface-Vehicles-Subwoofer-Vehicles/dp/B00CQUL240 it says its for RAV4 1996-2016. Mine's 2017. So I was wondering if that would work? If not I was thinking about https://www.carid.com/scosche/2-channel-line-out-converter-with-remote-level-control-mpn-loc90.html?singleid=250709086&vehicle=123470 but I'd rather prefer not to slice the original cables so I was thinking if it would be possible to get the A/V adapter for Touch 2 headunit and cut those wires if the include the Speakers wires in it?

Like I only need rem out and line out from headunit. Any idea how to do it?

I'll bump this, I found out that the 10 pin plug and the 6 pin plug have the wires for Speakers, so fair enough I would only have to tap myself into the one of the Speakers which would be pin 2-6 for LF, 1-5 for FR on the 10 pin plug or 2-6 for LR, 1-3 for RR on the 6 pin plug, not to bad.

But which pin can I use to turn on the AMP? Rem out to turn it on automatically with the headunit.

Maybe on radio ignition which is pin 3 on the 10 pin plug? Or maybe there is a pin on the radio that provides 12V+ when turn on for example like the power antenna but its not utilised in RAV4 so I can put an extra cable into the plug.

Also I don't really want to slice into the existing cable so I was thinking of making my own connector between the headunit and oem plugs.

I was thinking about something like this: aliexpress.com/item/33022252703.html?spm=a2g17.search0302.3.8.5968a4fa4rl5F0&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_0,searchweb201603_0,ppcSwitch_0&algo_pvid=e1e466bc-b5d7-4e17-b99b-2283c7c1cac2&algo_expid=e1e466bc-b5d7-4e17-b99b-2283c7c1cac2-1

Obviously I would get rid off the ones I don't need and put the female plug at the other side.

Would this all work?
