Hi everyone

i own a top spec 2013 auris ts hybrid, is it worth to change it to a Lexus CT200h 2014/2015? Wanna hear your opinions and pluses and minuses of a change

The CT200 is Auris based and is largely identical mechanically aside from having a foot operated parkng brake.

Really depending on your needs and wants, only you can decide what you want from a car, and whether the Lexus offers you more than the Auris.

Hi,

Lexus IS exactly same car as already mentioned, but has a lot better interior in terms of quality of materials, also it’s smaller inside and seating position is lower, very cramped on the back seat too. Fuel economy, dynamics and general performance is same.

my partner used to have a 13 plate auris hybrid and i used to have a Ct200h

and i have to say the lexus is a far nicer place to be

the use of materials feels better , a nicer thud when you close the doors

and quieter cabin the down side is that the ride is a lot firmer than the Auris

so a test drive will definately be needed ,around 14 / 15 the ct had a facelift

and the e-cvt was reprogrammed i think it made the car quieter and the chassis

was made stiffer along with slight body panel changes.

i used to average 58 - 63 mpg throughout the year

the premier model is the top of the range

the boot space is quiet small but there is a storage compartment under the boot floor

Government are currently consulting on changes to VED, which may include some reversion towards C02 based rates or bands - so the pre and post 2017 systems may be due to change.

the 63 plate Is300h luxury cost me £10 / yr

my 17 plate Is300h F Sport costs me £470 / yr

same engine ,transmission , 107g/km co2

Which are probably the NEDC figures, whereas WLTP figures will be used for any changes to the VED system.

£310 of my rfl is the extra tax the government kindly gave the car buyer

due to the value of the car when new

only another 3 years of being ripped off then it drops to £150 / yr ,

it will still be 15 times more expensive over a pre April 17 is300h car

We have both cars, the Lexus IS a luxury car and you pay extra for the “L” badging and leather interior. We have the excel in the auris and premier with the Ct200h. The stereo is awesome as it’s a mark levinson kit and beats any other stereo manufacturers. The Auris has auto park which we use a lot and miss it on the Ct200h.

The only downside is that the repair costs can be a lot more but we have extended warranty and it has been used many times with our other cars (Besides lexus and Toyota, we have 3 cars) as you get personal cover.

also having a service plan also makes it a lot cheaper than pay as you service saved around £100 on a 3 year plan.

But we only had to use it once when the ecu had to be replaced and it costed £4,000 but didn’t need to pay.
