I have a 2000 Rav that I have owned for five years and the air conditioning lines won’t hold pressure. So I took it to my favorite mechanic and he tells me the parts I need are no longer being made. So I have scoured the internet, and I can’t locate the lines. My mechanic told me that over the years the metal in the lines has become pocked with corrosion and has created tiny holes that allow the pressurized lines to lose the coolant. 
 Does anyone out there have a solution for this?

This post got me puzzled, because i always thought that AC lines are made out of aluminium, apart from the rubber parts, and aluminium does corode, but it actually makes it stronger, instead of weakening it. Rubber parts are different story.

And 2nd thing, i just did a quick search and came up on a bunch of parts.

So maybe provide some more info on this.

Aluminium corrodes, and it does it very quickly.  It doesn't rust, things with iron in them rust.  Aluminium doesn't contain iron so what you see isn't rust it's oxidation (corrosion)

It's this quick oxidation that gives aluminium its protection.

That being said, I would think it's still possible to get a replacement pipe, if not, there will be a way to repair it.

If you do have a leaky pipe, it should show up when dye is put into the system.  I'm surprised this has not been done.

...I'd try some motor aircon specialists..... its likely they can fabricate alu tubes themselves.
