Good morning.
You should read all the posts on the forum to avoid making irreversible mistakes.

I recall the post of October 20.

How to download the files needed to retrofit the Camry device

 You must download USB1, USB2 and USB3 from the official Toyota website www.toyota-tech.eu. You must create an account and log in. In the home menu, select « regulatory ». After selecting “Euro5/6” Select “Search” then enter the vin of a Rav4 or a Corolla or the following vin (SB1K93BE50E049677). Select “Publication Types”. Select “Technical Service Bulletin”. Select “Search” (in blue). On page 7, you will find bulletin BE-00439T-TME. This is where you need to go to download all the necessary files. You only need to take out a subscription of 1 hour or 2 hours of connection or more to unlock access to the download. It’s €5 for 1 hour and €10 for 2 hours. Choose the duration according to the speed of your internet connection because USB2 weighs 9GB and USB3 13GB.

To subscribe you must go to the Home menu then select “Buy Subscription”

Note the 3 passwords necessary to unzip the 3 files

I just updated to the latest 2024V2 map. It is not in USB3 or USB2. You have to buy it on eBay or on the toyota website

You must have a Toyota account associated with your own car

 I advise you to update the latest card before retrofitting the device to have Carplay and Android Auto.

Hi everyone,

Huge thanks to @Alcar, @laigle61 and all other who have contributed. Got mine updated as well without any errors. There are still good people left in this world 🍻.

My process was a breeze thanks to the previous work done here. I'll try to describe my flow in details as hopefully this makes it easier for the next person.

1) I downloaded the 3 USB sticks directly with some path guessing:
https://streamtechdoc.toyota-motor-europe.com/techdoc3/retrofit/Full_upgrade_package_Toyota_USB1.zip
https://streamtechdoc.toyota-motor-europe.com/techdoc3/retrofit/Full_upgrade_package_Toyota_USB2.zip
http://streamtechdoc.toyota-motor-europe.com/techdoc3/retrofit/Full_upgrade_package_Toyota_USB3_EU.zip

2) Seems the passwords are not generated per user (and they might change them I guess), nor is there any limit when accessing the URLs directly so laigle61's screenshot did the job and i had all the files. No need for an account  - I actually did try to register but the page is so broken that it was impossible to give them money, even when I wanted to.

3) My starting configuration:
DCU 17TDT2EU-DA01 / 86140-33D01
MEU 17TMT2EU-FA00 / 86840-06041
audio 1011, navigation 1520, navdb_version A36_4
Ref. No SYSS8E0AJA - I googled mine as well, did not pull the console out.

4) After downloading all the files, i wrote USB1 and USB2 to fresh memory sticks without any changes to them. FAT32 filesystem, brand new.  USB1 contains the intervention folder in the parent directory, USB2 has the 19 .kwi files directly in the parent directory.

5) I followed the process posted by laigle51 in september and did the so-called "USB1-USB2-USB1" process. My best understanding (for those curious) is that USB1 prepares the system to receive the  updates, USB2 does the update and USB1 after that does a system backup. When followed to the letter everything went without a hitch. My car did switch strangely often between running the engine and not running it (EV mode) but that could have been random. It does not appear to have affected the update process in my case.

6) The most confusing part - like for many others - was the renaming of the files. In my case, there appeared to be one extra (total of 11 .kwi files) in the root folder of the full_upgrade_package_Toyota_USB3_EU archive.  My method was to take the list of files provided and do all of the renames suggested - although I also *think* that probably not all of them are needed. Better safe than sorry, I guess.

7) It's very easy to mess up the order and the files, as you need to rename some files with names that already exist. My solution was to go one-by-one and move the file being renamed to a separate folder, rename it there and take the next one.

8 ) I was left with an "extra" file - 17TDT1EU-DA31_7910.kwi // 410 342 331 bytes // last modified 12.11.2019 07:45:20. I deleted this remaining .kwi file file together with the phaseup.dat file, as there was going to be a new file with that name as per the guide:
17TDT1EU-DA01_7910.kwi   -> 17TDT1EU-DA31_7910.kwi   358287kb.  I then moved the renamed files back to the parent directory.

9) Under //USB3/VehicleParameter/DCU/, I just added the folder with patched parameters that was previously provided - in my case, 86140-33D01 - as after checking the edited files it seemed to correlate (where it matters) to what Alcar posted in the beginning. Notable info:

//USB3/VehicleParameter/DCU/86140-33D01/DCU/FactoryID/SYS_SUM_EEPROM.bin:
* ) Ref. No matched (SYSS8E0AJA)
* ) there was a . / FF in the end (that could be an A in my case)
* ) the fourth byte was HEX 31 (ASCII 1). This confuses me the most - why is this needed?

//USB3/VehicleParameter/DCU/86140-33D01/DCU/FactoryID/env_pana.txt:
* In the original guide and files, it only lists 5 values that need to be checked & changed - VP_PANA_version, VP_PANA_pana_ID, VP_PANA_maker_ID,VP_PANA_area and VP_PANA_model_ID.
The files provided as zips by laigle61 on 06.10 change numerous other values in 33D01 and removes some altogether. With my car, the changes (at least by the looks of it) made sense...mostly (Wifi settings are changed, for example). In the end, if you are unsure, do the change yourself as per Alcard's guide. I admit, i took a gamble here and it seems to have worked out so far. Perhaps laigle61 is willing to provide further details for those looking to fine-tune certain settings if others are interested as well.

//USB3/VehicleParameter/DCU/86140-33D01/DCU/FactoryID/env_vehicle.txt:
* There are also other changes besides the VP_TOYOTA_version but they appear sane to me at least; in some cases it appears to even try to enhance functionality (VP_TOYOTA_EF_screen_drive_type=2WD -> =CAN). Again, if you are unsure, do the changes yourself - the files that come from the offical retrofit zip (USB3) are more or less all the same so just pick one like suggested in the first iteration of the guide.

10) As mentioned before, i did the 1-2-1 first, confirmed versions (now on DA01 and FA10 + changes to audio, navi and navdb). As the USB3 is rather big, then in my case, i had to use a separate tool to format a 64GB USB to FAT32. In windows, you can use Rufus for this, but there are also other tools.

11) Inserted USB3, as the car was running then it immediately started patching. It takes a while, as it goes component per component and it does numerous restarts. Best advice I can give here is to not touch anything and to let it work. Even if it appears to be stuck, do not touch it.

12) After a while, it finished, took some time to get my geoloc and set the correct time (got a scare when it hadn't updated yet and Android Auto failed to init).

13) I've checked everything I can think of and all functions work - AM/FM/DAB, CD, BT, Android Auto, Apple Carplay, bluetooth, voice commands (at least "Cancel" worked), iACC, LDA, LTA, parking sensors. With android auto, it's even able to show the navigation directions in the MID whereas Apple Carplay is not. All in all, at least in my case, there were more glitches with Carplay then with AA (pressing the SETUP button when in Carplay causes it to try to show both screen at once, like a see-trough), but both work and are usable.

14) Final software that seems to be aligned to what others here have shown: (besides the navdb):
DCU 17TD2EU-DA01 / 86140-33D01
MEU 17TD2EU-FA10 / 86840-K0010
audio 1023, navigation 1120, navdb 2019v1

I know I could connect to MyToyota and update the maps further, but truth be told, I don't care about the built-in nav nor the maps that much to pay for any kind of update.

Again, huge thanks for those involved.

Good evening everyone.

The modified files adapted to your radio that I posted come from the American Camry retrofit files. In fact, these files contain the Carplay license that Toyota USA must integrate to authorize the retrofit of American Camrys. The explanations were posted by Alcar on February 10, 2023 on page 2 of this forum.

It is normal that the content is very different from European files

The modified files located in the folders "86140-33D00", "86140-33D01", "86140-33D80", "86140-33D81" are all from the folder "86140-06500" located in the American retrofit pack which contains the carplay license

These files are only used to authorize the triggering of the retrofit with the European software located in USB3
