But that's the idea - if we're able to group up and express our complaints as a consumer mass - like they do in the U.S. all the time, then Toyota might take action - which in this case will be to just allocate some resources to fix this. If it doesn't require any physical changes to the vehicles - only a software tweak, then it is ridiculous not to fix this. I know they did a similar thing to old Mazda CX-5s - they offered retrofit addition of AC and AA after 8 years - customers had to pay like 500 bucks for it, but still.

This, from what I understand means that I did something wrong.

I went ahead with the final MEU update hoping that it will fix things, but that again only changed one thing:

Navigation: 1170

I did the delete user data thing, but I still don't have carplay. Does anyone have an idea about what might have I done wrong?

Some notes, not sure if they are related: 
- Navigation did break for me after the initial MEU upgrade this point (thought I was in Belgium for some reason), but the DCU update fixed it.
- Initially inserting USB 1 didn't do anything for me, but I could still install from USB 2. Still, I inserted USB 1 after that again, just to be safe. When I did the other MEU upgrade, I did get a loading screen with USB 1 though, installed USB 2, and then inserted USB 1 again, which again did not seem to do anything.

Just wondering if this matters ? I thought all Camrys from Europe are basically the same.

If you have Panasonic model it's no problem. Normally when the car don't have navigation it's a fujitsu model.

If you have Panasonic model only need the Usb3

Yes, you can but it's more complex. People install AA/CP flashing the memory but it's not a easy task.

I only test with panasonic model because it's the brand of my car radio

It's not neccessary, only need s programmer but it's dangerous. You can damage your car radio.

I found this information in Russian forum.

You can't change the multimedia player because the pinout in the connectors is different and don't work air conditioner and other thinks 😅

Hello. I read whole this thread and I'm little confused, I have problem in first steps. There is no 86140-06500 folder on this USB. Not matter which folder I choose when i edit this bin file in HEX editor I see different values in first line. Could you give some advice please? I read whole thread but didnt find answer, someone asked with the same problem, but noone answered him.

If DO i have to go to service menu to find some more informations? Do i have to unplug radio and see the sticker or these data are enough to not unscrew anything in the car?

I have a problem with the update.
My model:
DCU: 17DT2EU-DA01 86140-33D00
MEU: 17TMT2EU-FA00 86840-06041
Navbd_version 2021_v1

I updated to:
DCU: 17DT2EU-DA01 audio: 1020
MEU: 17TMT2EU-FA10 Navigation: 1170 

Error 02, I stopped the car and removed USB3, I started the car and got the message  "the update was not done" and now usb 3 doesn't start the installation anymore.
I did USB 3 again, I deleted the files phaseup.dat, 17DT2EU-DA01_7910.kwi, I renamed 17DT2EU-DA31_7910.kwi to 17DT2EU-DA01_7910.kwi and I put the directory 86140-33D00 with the necessary changes. 
At this moment usb 3 no longer starts the installation.

Thanks for the how to and I managed to get Apple Carplay going by means of the description of Alcar.

But now the system is back to audio version 1020...instead of 1023

I thought the parameter error 001 came because that the DCU unit was with errors, so I resetted the errors in the secret screen and decided to do the whole process again after resetting. In my case I have 17TDT1EU-DA02 and renamed the 17TDT1EU-DA30 file. However I inserted the wrong USB3 stick and the original DA02 file started to install on the system. When I saw the process running....It was too late. So now I am trying to use the USB stick with the renamed file but the update process does not start. The system just says checking usb and nothing further happens. If I try to install and updated DA02 file from the Toyota website the car says wrong software version.

Any ideas what to do?

Another EU Camry Touch 2 user here. I am so happy to see there is a solution for this, as the official dealership said, "it's not supported"

I have successfully retrofitted last April

To be clear, nothing should be changed in the content of USB1 and USB2

The changes only concern USB3. There are 3 very important modifications

 

 1 : Delete file phaseup.dat

 

 2 : Rename the following files

 17TDT2EU-DA00 -> 17TDT2EU-DA30

17TDT2EU-DA31 -> 17TDT2EU-DA01

17TDT2EU-DA32 -> 17TDT2EU-DA02

 

3 :  Copy the modified folder corresponding to your device into the folder VehicleParameter/DCU

 My device is 86140-33D00

Here the result

Everything works except the toyota oneline connected services. I was able to do the latest map update

 Map Update Spring 2024 Toyota Touch 2 MM17/MM19

 

I deleted user data after the retrofit, I think it was not necessary to do that

 If you are interested, I will give you the modified file for my device.
