Hi there,

I've recently purchased a Corolla e120 hatchback 1.4 d4d, with a mmt gearbox. The car has 245000 km, and the last full service was done at 240000. The car is well maintained and runs very good for its age. I've replaced all the filters and engine oil, because the last service was done more than 1 year ago. But I didn't change the gearbox oil.

I am noticing that especially when the car is cold, or it has been siting for a while, it makes a strange noise on the first gear. Only when I start to drive and then it goes away. It seems like the noise of the breaks when the break pads are dirty or worn out. I don't know if I can explain properly the noise.

Although, I've noticed that it goes away and or at least I can't hear it on the traffic lights when the car is warmed.

I am not very familiar with the mmt gearbox, and I can't understand if that's a normal thing or I should do anything to stop it.

Thank you in advance.
