Can anyone help. Just bought my first celica (1990 GTR import).

The A/C doesn't work but the A/C button led operates.

Any advice/suggestions gratefully received! :(

Hi,

it sounds like it needs a coolant top up.

The aircon system has a pressure switch that detects the gas pressure in the system. If the pressure drops due to coolant leakage then the switch is tripped and the compressor doesn't spin. Refilling is a specialist job though, so you'll have to take it somewhere.

FYI... coolant leaks from all aircon systems all the time. The more you use the aircon though, the longer it lasts.
