Immobiliser

Hi. I have just had to change the Battery on my wife’s Aygo year 2010. Unbeknown to me the car is fitted with an immobiliser.

Trying to start the car the ignition is completely dead. I assume the immobiliser has kicked in. Please could anyone tell me how to reset the system.

The key only has an unlock and lock button, no panic button.

Your help would be appreciated

Steve

Moved to the Aygo club.

As you've said the ignition is dead, presume no dashboard lights come on.

Have you checked the Battery is the correct type and the terminals are on correctly ( pos to pos, neg to neg) and tight and that you removed the caps off the Battery terminals

check the main fuse in the fuse box iirc its 80 or 120 amp, is it a brand new Battery ?

The immobilizer doesn't work in that way it needs the signal from the key to allow it to start, if you turn in the ignition the dash will light up but the car will turn over but not start
