Along as you adhere to the rules....

...having a Toyota that is.

What sort of mpg do you tend to get around town in the Yaris T-Sport?

One good thing...my insurance is going to be about £130 cheaper than my GTI!!!!!!!!! :P :P  :P

I've been getting about 30ish max but I do tend to put my foot down so I supose there is room to get more if your a more sedate driver.

I was quite suprised about my insurance I had a group 9 car before and paid £368.00 the T sport is lower at a group 7 yet I had to pay an extra £76.

I agree with you about the cooking I never cook as I'm usless at it !! Mind you my husband is worse I don't thik he's ever cooked anything apart from ready meals and beans on toast !! ;)

Deb I bet your so excited about getting the car I know I couldn't wait !!

let us know what you think when you take your first proper drive in it.

I've just realised looking at your T sport mine doesn't have the t sport Badge on the back !!!

Have you done any modifications to your one? Looks wise?

question, is it a import.... they dont have the Badge and also the very early ones didnt come with them....

there is a different exhaust, lexus style lights, white fog light lens and a stonking owner club sticker.....

Yes it was an import, I could probably get a Badge from somewhere couldn't ?

I love the lights it makes the car more symetrical.

Is your exhaust loud?

On my old car a AX GT I had a stright through stainless steel sports exhaust which is loud my neighbours are so pleased I now have the t sport !! I think they'll be begging me not to put another sports exhaust on :D

Now the main and most important question - Where did you get your owner club sticker from

Kaz

yes the Badge is available from your dearlership...... the exhaust is not loud as its tte and they still respect toyotas wishes of quite cars, you do notice the differance tho.... the lens is from japan where they dont have fog!!!!

as for the sticker thats a hard one..... if you pm steve the guy from bournemouth that drives the windom with your wishes he will pm you back with an address, then you can send him a stamped addresed envolope.... simple,

In between bikes at the mo. Just sold my Yamaha Fazer 600. Probably going to go for a more agile Suzuki SV 650.

I got ablut 32-36 from my GTI, so performance will probably be about the same.

I do save on insurace and servicing costs though.

One of my brothers has a Bandit at the moment but probably not for long though as he is always having accident be it in his car or on the bike !!!!

I have noticed with the TSport that the Average MPG reading seems to be average over all journeys, unlike the last GS I had where the Average was since you last started the engine - I.E - you got an average reading for that journey - is this right or have I missed something?

My average fluctuates between 32.7 and 32.9 MPG

Steve.

Hi There,

I've had my thunder grey yaris t-sport since may 2002. I'm now sitting at around 33,000 miles as haven't had a single issue other than a rattley boot. The boot lock had dried out apparently and just needed greased - which was done by the dealership free of charge.

All I do is check the oil (which never moves) and clean it once in a while. I haven't done too much to the car mod wise other than run in rear Speakers - much knuckle damage and fiddling, but the Speakers make the stereo much more beefy.

I really like the car - I use it every day for work and have to quite often cover fairly big journeys which the car does well - on a long run it'll average in the low forties milage wise - depending on the traffic situation.

I think the looks are really outstanding - most sporty models look like the spoilers etc are stuck on and an afterthought whereas the t-sport looks all round finished.

The ride - despite being firm - if fine for long runs - I live in the thames valley and regularly drive to either the lakes or back home to scotland with the car. The sliding and folding rear seats mean that I can use it for camping without any hassle and unlike most hatches the height of the back bay means you can still see out the rear.

All in all a magic little car - I'd have loved to make the last meet - maybe next time.

Have fun with the car - mines doesn't have a rear Badge either and I find that its useful as if people are coming up behind you they've no idea - until you dissapear into the distance

Hi clarky Well it seems to me that you dont sleep. You have got a hell of a lot of miles on your motor. You must really love driving your T Sport around. I have had my car just over a year and have just climbed over the 6,000 mile mark.

I would really love to get about more but i live so near to work. On average i cover about 6-8 mile a day :( . I wish that i worked about 20 - 30 miles away. Then i could really get to enjoy my motor more. But still summer is coming and i will be out and about.

Maybe at the next meet i will see you. Welcome the the club mate :P

It's great to see the club growing and more people talking about coming to meets...

Wonder how many people from TOC will make the cotswold meet and then JAE ????

Should be interesting to see the numbers increase....

Ha the wee pet beastie is a cutie.

I'm getting a magical 37-40 mpg at the moment and I'm not driving too slow.

No rattles, no indicators falling off and not dodgy clutch.

Oh that was my NEW GTI.

Faults from new in 3 yrs:

Indicator fitted incorrectly (hence fell out lots)

Clutch spring fitted wrong way up (hence stalled lots)

Rear speaker not wired in

4 new wheels required - all pitted

Alarm sounder needed replacing (shorting out electrics!)

Engine temperature sensor..

and respray around boot for poor paint.. flaking off!

All sorted under warranty but what a pain!!!!!

Gives a new meaning to Bye bye GTI!

Jerry,

Yep - certainly like the car.

I work as a consultant and most people are a bit surprised when they see me turn up in their car park with the T-Sport - funnily enough the assume I'll have a 3 series beemer (never!)

Do a lot less miles these days since I moved to my current job - was doing 100 k + annually not including foreign trips. Last few company cars were mazda's - but was converted when my other half got a celica.

What struck me was that the celica was a p reg ( 8 years old at the time) and didn't have a single squeak or rattle despite some serious driving. Hence when I moved away to my own car I wanted a toyota and then decided I wanted small, practicality and fun!

Missed the last meet through business commiments but will endeavour to see you all at the next one ...
