Your 2.2D4D Rav4 is capable of towing:

750kg for an un-braked trailer

2000kg for a braked trailer

both with a maximum nose weight of 80kg,

So long as your towing within these limits the Rav will be fine.

I’m an oldie got it in the 70s but my daughter got hers in 2014 so I think she needs to take a trailer test to tow BUT I can sit with her while she drives The  combination, long as there are L plates on th earlier and the car?

i was just worried Incase the car would not pull the trailer that was 1000k and a 550 k horse Especially up a steep hill .

its fine just towing the trailer empty but haven’t been brave enough to put horse in it yes so thought I would ask the expert advice on this forum

iirc there was another rule change in 2013

The car will tow it no issue, diesels are ideal as the power is down low

The combined mam of 3500kg you are just about within the limits
