Clunk when in left hand turn with bakes 2008 Yaris

Next problem.

When parking or just going down hill. If I steer (mostly in tight left turns) to the left with light to moderate braking I get an almighty clunk from the right hand front wheel area. It doesn't do it any other time only when brakes are applied and steering left. I know the Driveshaft on that side is on it's way out but it isn't terrible, you have to really give it some round a corner before it starts clicking.. Done a good 80 miles today and I havnt heard a peep out of it at all going round tight bends, as soon as I apply brakes and steer left *CLUNK* ..  I noticed the lower control arm bush is slightly perished but under normal braking, no sound.. Upper strut bearing, maybe?... Hell if I know.

I suspect brake pads moving in their carrier as pads replaced without  new fittings. As a result pad moves and clunks against its stop...due to disk catching on pad and forcing it to move sideways..

It has to be ... Only does it when I brake.. I will inspect this on my day off.. Not too worried about this tbh, I have no play in the wheel and its not clunking going over bumps.. Our lass's sister said it recently had new brakes as well come to think of it.

Had a look and it appears on my model, It does not require the fittings.. Pads just go straight into the guides?..

I'd say the only way you'll know for sure is to lift the car off the ground and get a pry bar between all the bushes, ball joints etc and see if you can see any excessive movement/ clunking

Hmm.. It also does it on right hand turns also, of course xD.. Yeah Wez, I think I might take it to the garage. The Lower suspension arm bushing, espescially the one towards the rear looks perished, I didnt have a look at the ball joint... It's certainly coming more from the bottom of the car and is very metallic sounding. Really irritating. I will get to the bottom of it.

If on both sides, it's either a worn steering rack or track rod arms or suspension bushes...

I suggest looking at the bushes holding the steering rack to the front subframe. They can perish and wear and the holding brackets will move and clonk.

Well, They were going to look at the car but said it would take a few hours cos they were busy. So I said I'd call back. Yesterday I took the initiative to take apart the front brakes . I noticed that the noise only seem to appear when the brakes were hot and only under braking, also after releasing the brakes. Anyway after seeing that there was no copper slip on the back of the pads and there was a bunch of gunk on there and in the guides, I cleaned the crap out of them and re-lubricated them and took her for a test drive. I took it to the area where the noise was happening the worse and, guess what?.  The noise has gone... for now.
