We have a 1999 Corolla GLS that has been my wife's car from new, and has only 40,000 miles on the clock.  It has just failed the MOT because the Fog Light is not working, which is apparently classed as a MAJOR DEFECT(?).  Looking to simply check the bulb, I have removed the lining cover in the boot to expose the lamp holder, and can release the holder with a simple twist - but the actual bulb is then too big to be extracted through the hole in the plastic frame!  Is this normal, and is there a solution?
