Hi Im new to the forums and new to Toyota as well. I have just brought a Toyota Yaris 1 litre hatchback from my uncle and I plan to learn to tow with it. I would like some advice on what towbar would be the best to get and what electrics would be a good idea. I know it cant do a large trailer or caravan so no need for a 13 pin, but Im new to all this so any advice would be appreciated.

I have now sourced and fitted a towbar for this car with a 7 pin socket and related wiring.

Just wondering but what will your mpg be like in a 1 litre towing? Not even mentioning the speed and power of acceleration.

When transporting goods in mine I just fold down and fold forward the back seats and use it as a makeshift transit

Its a complicated situation, I dont actually plan on transporting anything of weight in it. Its simply to allow me to learn how to tow a trailer, so I can then go on and do my B+E test with some experience. I have another car that would get used for towing things like caravans in the future, but thats an automatic and I want to pass my B+E in a manual car so Im not restricted to what vehicles I could tow with in the future. This was a cheap car to use for the purpose, I perhaps should have thought about a slightly more powerful engine though.
