Matt's A Bleedin Legend!

Well was doing some spirited acceleration this morning and the soddin gear linkage cable broke! which left me stuck in third.

Had to take the car straight to the garage, only problem is garage was on the other side of newcastle so was a pain driving in 3rd, having to stop, start etc.

by the time i got to the garage clutch had burnt out, was smokin' like a chimney!

So garage quoted 600 (just shy) for new clutch, cable + labour... can't really afford that atm, so on the fone for parts.

Rang rougue and matt sorted me out for ASAP nxt day delivery on the cable, at a nice price! i owe ya one m8

Fitting of the cable is £90 so i can afford that atm.

Clutch will have to wait, hopefully, i can run the car for hte time being with a fubared clutch!

Heh, girls, all the do is cost ya money!!!

Least it wasnt the gearbox that went tho... <_<

I did see a S15 i think... Sylvia at the bolney meet.. have a pic of it somewhere.. just from the back though...

yeah .. the S15 Sylvia is import only ..

in stock trim a cross between the 406 coupe and the S14

RX7 like i said before matey.. :P

RX7 like i said before matey

Ahhhhhh....the good old batmo aye.

Good points:

FAST....IMO would JUST be quicker than a Type III in stock trim and easier to make quicker than a 2.

HANDLE'S really well.....better than a MR2 as a near to perfect weight balance, will be just as tail happy as a MR2 for the un-experienced though.

LOOK'S really nice.....even in stock trim...heaps of kit's to make it even better.

Bad points:

ROTARY ENGINE....it ain't all internet talk, HAVE to be maintained all the way from ownership or else there doomed, and even with a perfect service history your up for a rebulid at 90,000 km's.

INTERIOR is SMALL.....REALLY small and door handles etc are very plasticy i.e. always break. However the speddo looks cool.

MODDING while getting very good gains from small mods for most the engine is so different and unknown it's often expensive to mod.

All of the above are my opinion of course...very popular here in NZ they are and Iv'e dragged my mate in his stock one a few times...pretty close I'd say he has the edge.

Cheers

Spot on there kiwi. Also more expensive initially than a mint rev3 tubby...

plus engine requires rebuild every 50000 miles or so, depending on how you drive, (i think u guys know i'll be using that high revvin engine to its max if i do!)

Also gonna be hard gettin a fairly recent nicely kitted (low modified) import what with the new SVA regulations malarky.

There's ton's of variations to the rx-7 gen 3 as well, makes the 5 revision of the mr2 look insignificant

Wonder what the insurance will be like, should be similar to a rev3 tubby tho, so i think that balances out...

I'll havta find a decent rotory specialist thats close by first. if i cant then i'm not gonna buy it. i know what im like, will be shelling out 3g or so for an engine rebuild every 25000 miles, lol.

But hey, if ya cant hav fun in ur motor why bother eh?

Then again once I wreck the rotory i can get a nice rev 3 3s-gte and wack it in there, gonna be saving myself money in the long run!

I'll be hated by all (kinda like a 2 driver w. a ferarri kit, lol) but no worries, its all good :D

BTW that transplant can be done, i read about it somewhere, just forgot where...
