Just curious guys, if some one pulled up with you at the lights and wants to drag you – would you?

If I remember right, the power band for the stock 5efe is aobut 6,500rpm – so I would usually take it up to just before 7000 and shift into second – but then revs drop all the way back to 3,500??

There’s only been the once that I accidentally revved to 7,300 before going to second and it felt much faster, engine only kicked back to 5,000rpm and shot up again??

Can anyone advise, when is the best time to shift from first into second for a drag?

Being young and immature I usually give them a run for their money (unless its cars with 2L or bigger engines), esp going down slight hills have beaten quite a few cars – most memorable is beating a pretty flashy civic with big fat wheels and noisy exhaust hahaha pulled up with him again at the next lights and saw his gf hitting him – cos she had spilled her drink all over herself!!

if only had a camera at the time hahahaha

To be honest mate, I'd keep it for the track ;) Not that a Seo's ever gonna win any awards for straight line speed, you're better off reaping the rewards of the handling on B roads, assuming you've upgraded the suspension that is.

The power band as such starts about 3500 to 4000 rpm, but its nothin too spectacular, on my last sportsbike the power came in at about 10000 rpm and redlined at 15500, now thats a powerband :P

I'd steer clear of revving into the redline aswell, too often and it'll end in tears cos of engine damage :(
